Zvolen

The Zvolen Regional Directorate manages the railway infrastructure in the southern part of central Slovakia. It is responsible for 931,825 km of track, of which 104,893 km is double-track and 142,569 km is electrified (on the Banská Bystrica–Šurany section). Its jurisdiction includes 589 bridges with a total length of 5 925 m and 41 tunnels (more than half of all ŽSR tunnels) with a total length of 18,876 m. The most significant of these is the Čremošiansky Tunnel (4 698 m)—the longest railway tunnel in Slovakia. The Zvolen DR has 10 independent railway stations, 65 non-independent stations, 13 switching yards, 4 border crossing stations, and 161 stops. Infrastructure management and maintenance are provided by 16 local administration and maintenance centers in the ŽTS, OZT, and EE divisions.
